Dear Aunt Jo, I want you to know how much I admire and respect you for the valient fight you put up in your last months with us. It takes a lot of courage to face such an illness the way you did. I am so happy I got to spend some time with you in October. I hate to say it, but in some ways hurricane Sandy was a blessing. It brought us all close and kept us from concentrating on anything but family and catching up. It's not so bad being couped up when your with the people who are special to you. I want you to know what an amazing person I have always thought you were. I know you and Uncle Don are very proud of the family you have raised. When I think of family and how it should be, a picture of the Vaughns comes to mind and I am so blessed to be a part of that. I hope to see them all more often. I have such great chilhood memories with family. Some of my most cherished memories are with you and Uncle Don. I remember when you would take trips down to Florida and stay with us and I remember looking forward to getting home from school to visit more. I could listen to the two of you for hours telling stories. It never seemed to get boring. We took so many trips to different places to see you guys. One of my most memorable Christmases was the one we spent in Vermont. I was about eleven or so. It was frigid cold but I didn't care. I had never seen snow like that!!!! I still feel bad that I left Mark in the woods and went home when he went to look for the gun stock I dropped. LOL. I know he was mad at me. Sorry Mark. I will miss our talks and our visits but I promise to stay close with the family. I see how important it is. It won't be the same without you. I miss Mom a lot so make sure you give her a big kiss for me. I am sure she has you in stitches by now. I love you.
