Obituary for Rev. James Earl Ziegenfus

Rev. James Earl Ziegenfus, 97, of Kunkletown, passed away Saturday, February 25 in the Pocono Health System Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care Hospice House, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of the late Olive Louise (Warmkessel) Ziegenfus.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Warren and Della (Roth) Ziegenfus.

He belonged to Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville.

Rev. Ziegenfus had been a Pastor for over seventy years before retiring in 2015.

He is survived by two sons, Paul Ziegenfus of Kunkletown and James Ziegenfus and his wife Shirley of West Chester; two daughters, Della Lord of Muncy and Pamela Wilson of Allentown; eight grandchildren, six great grand children, and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 AM from Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 too 8:00 PM from the church and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment of Rev. Ziegenfus' cremated remains will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 168, Kresgeville, PA 18333.
