Obituary for Roger R. Green

It is with much sadness that the family of Roger Ronald Green announces his passing after illness on Thursday, June 21, 2018.

Born on April 19, 1946 in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Harry F. and Olive (Strohl) Green.

He is preceded in death by all of his brothers, as well as his wife, Linda Marie (Shupp) Green.

He attended Pleasant Valley High School and after marrying the love of his life, moved to Saylorsburg where he raised his children, living in their family home for 53 years. He only recently moved to North Fort Myers, FL..

He was a life-long Teamster with Local 229 and retired from Roadway Express in Tannersville. In his younger life he worked at Collins and Aikman in the textile industry as well as other factories. He was a proud and dedicated part-time bus driver for the Pleasant Valley School District for many years.

He was a member of the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club for a number of years and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to travel, his favorites being St. Thomas and nearby islands. He enjoyed racing and football.

He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Marie Green and her husband Darren Ballas; his son, Roger Ronald Green and his wife Lee B. Green; his grandchildren, Rose Marie Mercado, Michael Ambrose Green, Amber Marie Myers Virginia Green Swartz, Robert LeRoy Myers and Theresa Green and their respective spouses, as well as many great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a large extended family of sisters and brothers-in law as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 27 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Douglas Hayes officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 27 from 6:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment of Roger's cremated remains will take place on Saturday, July 28 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Eaton Cemetery.
