Obituary for Walter C. "Wally" Hill Sr.

Walter C. "Wally" Hill Sr., 82, of Saylorsburg, passed away Tuesday, May 8 in his home.

He was the loving husband of Frances J. (Buskirk) Hill. They celebrated 64 years of marriage together.

Born in Wind Gap, he was the son of the late George Hill and the late Emma (Lewis) Hill.

Wally worked as a labor foreman for most of his life. He spent fifteen years working for Vobuco Inc. in Alpha, NJ until retiring in 1995.

He was a former member of the Bricklayers Union. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved traveling in his RV across the U.S. with his family. He also maintained his own garden throughout most of his life. Wally enjoyed golfing, but had an even better time hunting for lost golf balls around the golf courses.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Walter C. "Skeeter" Hill Jr. and Jonathan P. Hill, both of Saylorsburg; three brothers, Buster G. Hill of Saylorsburg, Robert Hill of Nazareth, Harold Hill of Florida; three sisters, Evelyn Stocker, Delores Bayless of Nazareth, Dorothy Lobb of East Bangor; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lindlar and husband Chris of Stockertown, Jaclyn Hill of Saylorsburg, Steven Hill of Saylorsburg; and five great grandchildren, Anthony, Nicolas, Andrew, Alexis, and Marissa. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ralph C. Hill and a sister, Betsy Hill.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
