Rosemary A. Petty, 83, of Brodheadsville, passed away Tuesday, April 3 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.

She was the wife of Robert T. Petty. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in February.

Born in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John Schmid and the late Catherine (Reiner) Schmid.

She was a member of the Country Side Alliance Church in Brodheadsville. She was also a former member of the Prince Of Peace Church in Denville. NJ.

Rosemary was a registered nurse in her early years. She later worked in international collections for the Warner Lambert Company.

She had a knack for quilt making, cooking and baking. She loved her bible as well, as she was involved in several churches throughout her life. Rosemary was a very loving soul , and she was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Tom Petty and wife Lori of Washington Township, NJ, Jim Petty and wife Heather of New Jersey; two daughters, Linda Michaels of North Carolina, JoAnn Kloepping and husband Jeff of Landing, NJ; three brothers, John Schmid and wife Dolores of Wisconsin, Joe Schmid and wife Laverne of Wapwallopen, PA, Bobby Schmid and wife Kathy of California; a sister, Betty Strazlecki of Wapwallopen, PA; three grandchildren, Renee, Kayla, and Dustin; and a great grandchild, Katie. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Schmid.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9 at 12:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville with Rev. Dave Hickman officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 8 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home and on Monday, April 9 at 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Countryside Alliance Church, 126 Countryside Dr., Brodheadsville, PA 18322 or the St. Luke's Hospice House, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
