Obituary for Elmer C. Frantz

Elmer C. Frantz, 89, of Lehighton and formerly of Kunkletown passed away on Saturday, March 24 in the St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.

He was the husband of the late Ruby M. (Borger) Frantz.

Born in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the late Eilas and Esther (Shupp) Frantz.

Elmer was a WW II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion in Bath.

He worked for M.F. Weiss Plumbing and Heating in Brodheadsville for thirty years.

Elmer was a life-time member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ in Kunkletown and a life-time member of the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club. He loved hunting, fishing and woodworking, He made toys for his children and grandchildren. Elmer was the former President of the Eldred Township Veterans Memorial Committee and he designed the memorial.

He is survived by a son, Ronald "Clyde" Frantz of Kunkletown; a daughter, Diann Bittenbender of Saylorsburg; five grandchildren, Jamie Frantz, Ronald Frantz II, Nathan Frantz, Magen Snyder and Mark Bittenbender; six great grandchildren, Paige, Allyssa, Sydney, Leilani, Nickolas and Hailee and his companion Beatrice Waibel.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28 from St. Matthew's UCC in Kunkletown with Rev. Suzanne Brooks-Cope officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service in the church.
