Obituary for Billie Lou Rivera (Melberger)

Billie Lou Rivera, 67, of Gilbert, passed away on Friday, February 16 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Rose Melberger.

She had worked at Mobile Chemical in Washington, NJ for over fifteen years before retiring.

Billie loved gardening, crocheting and photography and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her companion of over thirty years, Frank Johnston; two daughters, Carmen Rivera of Bangor and Angelic Rivera of West Chester; a son Jorge Rivera Jr. of Palmer Township; a sister, Johna Carbrera of Bath; a brother, Lewis Melberger of Phillipsburg; NJ; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 24 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. David Felker officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Luke's Anderson Campus Cancer Center, 1872 Riverside Circle, Easton, PA 18045.
