Obituary for Homer Wilson Smith

Homer Wilson Smith, 83, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Thursday, February 15 at home.

He was the husband of Patricia Ann (Metzger) Smith. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May.

Born in McMichaels, he was the son of Wilson Smith and Bertha (Everett) Smith.

He had a true passion for his farming and dedicated his life to his farm. He also worked as a compressor operator at Camelback Resort for over twenty years.

He was a life member of the Pocono Lodge No. 780 F&AM and also a member of the Pocono Ski Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Gai Smith-Yates and companion Rocky Smith of Stroudsburg, Jo Ann Marie Kuhenbeaker and husband Les of Le Raysville; four sisters, Alberta Thomas, Emma Butz, Arlene Berger, Gladys Warnick; two grandchildren, Trevor Yates and Kayli Yates, both of Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Oakey Smith, Warren Smith, Lawrence Smith, and two sisters, Beatrice Besecker and Ethel Hartshorn.

Services will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National FFA Organization (Future Farmers of America), 1410 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
