Obituary for Nancy Villanueva (Rodriguez)

Nancy (Rodriguez) Villanueva, 67, of Brodheadsville, formerly of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 6, surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of Hector Villanueva. They celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in October.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Sergio Rodriguez and Carmen (Mirro) Rodriguez.

Nancy worked as a computer graphics artist for CBS in New York City for over fifteen years. She was nominated for three Emmy Awards, with two nominations for 60 Minutes, and winning an Emmy for CBS Sports in 1989.

She had a true passion for traveling extensively across the world and visited every continent except for Australia, which was on her list as one of her next destinations. She also loved her home garden which was her pride and joy.

Her family meant everything to her. She loved her family like they were a bunch of baby birds, as she was profoundly family oriented. She was an amazing grandmother, and loved her grandchildren like they were her own children. Nancy was the true love of Hector's life. She was an incredible human being. She was loving, generous, a fantastic wife, and had a great sense of humor. Nancy had the uncanny ability of being funny and making people laugh even when she wasn't trying to, and her family will always remember the great memories that involved Nancy in their lives. She will be sorely missed by many.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by her loving daughter, Tamatha Mavraides and husband Peter of Brodheadsville; her grandchildren, Hailey and Katherine Mavraides; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

The Kresge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
