Obituary for Lyle S. Borger

Lyle S.  Borger
Lyle S. Borger, 52, of Kunkletown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 14 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.

He was the husband of Robin (Longenbach) Borger. They celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary in November.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Leonard M. Borger and the late Harriet J. Borger.

He was a member of Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kresgeville.

Before becoming disabled, Lyle was a truck driver for Leonard Borger Trucking and also worked as a well driller for Borger Well Drilling.

He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1983 where he also studied welding from Monroe County Vo-Tech. He was a member of the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club and volunteered at the Kunkletown Fire Co.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Robin and Lyle attended many Steelers games and eloped after one of the games in Pittsburgh. He loved to live life on the edge and enjoyed anything fast. He had a love for racing ATV's and snowmobiles. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Lyle enjoyed watching sports and John Wayne movies. He also had two bulldogs, Buster and Brutus, whom he loved very much. Lyle was the kindest and most compassionate person with a heart of gold.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, two stepsons, Chad Snyder and wife Lorrie, and Ryan Snyder, both of Kunkletown ; a brother, Steve Borger and wife Debbie; two sisters, Gail Borger and husband Jeffrey, Lenna Kuehner and husband Robert, all of Kunkletown; three grandchildren, Nikolas Snyder, Matthew Snyder, and Daniel Snyder; six nephews, Daryl and Daniel Kuehner, and Jay Borger, Ross Borger, Mark Borger, and Drew Borger; a niece, Jordan Borger; four sisters-in-law, Ronda Furler and husband Dean of Beltzville, Bonnie Keller of Trachsville, Maxine Scheller and companion Paul Sylvester of Kresgeville, Wanda Casella of Greeley; two mothers-in-law, Ruby Longenbach of Trachsville, Brenda Longenbach of Florida; a brother-in-law, Frankie Longenbach and wife Lori of Tennessee; and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 1:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Kunkletown. A closed casket visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
