Rae James Halliday, 77, of Effort, passed away on Sunday, December 10 in Brookmont Healthcare Center.

He was the husband of Irene (Coxon) Halliday. Irene has been together with Rae since she was fourteen years old. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in April.

Born in England, he was the son of the late Albert Halliday and the late Mary (Sives) Halliday.

Rae took much pride in his work as a gardener in Estate Management in Allentown for over thirty years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kim Dillon of WY, Heidi Halliday and husband David Geisinger of AZ; three grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Shay; a great grandchild, Mia Rose; a cousin, Don Lucas and wife Sue; a sister-in-law, Carol Davis; two brothers-in-law, Ken Baker and wife Sandra, Terry Coxon; and great friends, Brian and Kim Blondo, Jeremy and Jen Mackay, and Jim and Marlys Whitney. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Halliday and Lynn Halliday.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 20 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
