Obituary for Christopher Allen Knecht

Christopher Allen Knecht, 65, of Tannersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Amy Lynn (Rauchenberger) Knecht. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in July.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late John Henry Knecht and the late Gloria Marie (Meckes) Knecht Cook.

Christopher was the owner and operator for Knecht & Son Trucking for most of his life, and was also business partners with Larry Heller for Heller & Knecht Excavating. He recently started working for EF Possinger and Son as a truck driver from April to August of this year.

He volunteered his time as a driver for the local American Cancer Society. He loved hunting, fishing, and family gatherings. Christopher earned the nickname "Mr. Fix It" as he was quite the handyman and was known as the jack of all trades in the family. He enjoyed truck pulls, Nascar, and especially his morning coffee at the Snydersville Diner, where he loved to socialize.

In addition to his wife Amy, he is survived by a daughter, Felica Ann Knecht of Gilbert; a brother, Dan Knecht and wife Patricia of Hazleton; a sister, Rose Balderston and husband Daniel of Sugarloaf; and a grandson, Landen Davis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher John Knecht; a brother, Dale Knecht; two sisters, Connie Knecht and Mary Louise Cook; and an aunt, Gymane (Meckes) Ellsworth Bush who was like a second mother to him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27 at 8:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Monday November 27 at 6:00 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2158 N. Main Ave. Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
