Frederick H. "Fritz" Meich, 73, of Lehighton, formerly of Blakeslee, passed away on Wednesday, September 6 in The Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing & Rehab Center, Lehighton.

Born in Jim Thorpe, he was the son of the late Frederick Meich and the late Mary (Andrease) Meich.

Fritz worked as a carpenter for the union in Philadelphia for over forty years.

He was a member of the Indian Mountain Rod & Gun Club in Kresgeville as well as a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.

He is survived by two sisters, Theresa Mahoney and companion Richard Abbott of Long Pond, Rita Miller of Fleetwood; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Miller.

No services will be scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
