Obituary for Chester L. "Chet" Zarubnicky

Chester L. "Chet"Zarubnicky, 84, of Saylorsburg died suddenly on Saturday, August 12,, 2017 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.

He is survived by his companion of twelve years, Shirley Frable.

He was born on December 17, 1932 in Teaneck, N to the late Charles H. and Margaret (Kunz) Zarubnicky.

He graduated from Little Ferry High School in NJ. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 as a medic on a hospital train in Germany. He was then in the Reserves for six years. He retired from the US Postal Service in NJ as a window clerk in 1993 and then worked several part-time jobs in Monroe County.

He was a member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, the Christ Hamilton Seniors and he was a fifty six year member of the American Legion.

In addition to his companion, he is survived by two daughters, Kim Zarubnicky in NJ and Dawn Zarubnicky in CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion E. Zarubnicky, a brother, Charles J. Zarubnicky and by a sister, Florence E. Zarubnicky.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 18 at 11:00 AM from Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church with Rev. David Danneberger officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Sciota. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service in the Lighthouse at Christ Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church to go towards the Organ Restoration Fund, 419 Bossardsville Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
