Obituary for Shirley Fehr (Johnson)

Shirley Fehr, 79, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 17 in St. Luke's Hospital- Anderson Campus.

She was the wife of Frank Fehr. They recently observed their 57th wedding anniversary on May 14.

Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Nora (Beck) Johnson.

Shirley graduated from Pen Argyl High School. She began her career working at R&R Toy Factory. She then started helping her husband in the family excavation business. She then began housekeeping at Shawnee Inn in 1989 and retired in 2003.

Shirley was truly the jack of all trades. She loved baking and enjoyed gardening. She was an avid dancer, including square and polka dancing. She volunteered helping with the girl scouts for many years. She was a member of the Mount Eaton Church in Saylorsburg, and was a member of the church choir. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Zane Fehr and his wife Donna of Saylorsburg, Brian Fehr and his wife Rhonda of Bath; two daughters, Jodi Werner and her husband Delroy Jr. of Saylorsburg, Lori Fairchild and her husband Mark of Saylorsburg; a brother, John Johnson and his wife Elaine of New York; five sisters, Whilhemina Korboth of Nazerath, Ethlyn Achenbach of Wind Gap, Naomi Whitmore of East Stroudsburg, Wintha Kintter of New York, Marjorie Redshaw of New York; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Johnson, Percy Johnson, Earl Johnson; and three sisters, Carol Sutton, Arlene Johnson, and Arvonia Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, with Rev. Douglas Hayes officiating. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Cremation will follow in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
