Obituary for Michael Andrew Helmer

Michael A. Helmer, 20, of Albrightsville, passed away on Monday, May 1 in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

Born in New Port Richey, FL, he was the son of Andrew Helmer and Jodie (Johnson) Malkin.

Michael worked in maintenance at Carpenters Insulation for two years.

He was a volunteer fireman and he was involved with the Albrightsville Fire Company for over ten years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Matthew Helmer of Albrightsville; a half-sister, Alyson Malkin of Freeland; Several Aunts and Uncles, Rosemary Helmer of Albrightsville, Paul Helmer Jr. and wife Alison of Branchville, NJ, Chris Helmer and wife Nancy of Belvidere, NJ, Susan Baggerly and husband Tim of Waverly, NY, Lisa Mew and husband Ed of Hackettstown, NJ, Laura Thomas and husband Jim of Belvidere, NJ, sixteen cousins and numerous great cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lenore and Paul Helmer Sr., and a cousin, Samantha Helmer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5 at 6:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville with Rev. David Felker officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 5 at 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
