Gail L. Counterman, 64, of Lehighton, died Tuesday, February 14 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

She was the wife of Stewart Counterman. They had observed their 30th wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Raven and Patricia (Stout) Geisler.

Gail had worked for the Just Born Candy Factory in Bethlehem for forty six years.

She liked bingo and enjoyed needlepoint but she really loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carrie West of Lehighton; a son, Keith Schaeffer of Weatherly; three step-sons, Joseph Counterman of Mifflinburg, Stewart Counterman Jr. of Lansford and Joseph Counterman of Lehighton; three step-daughters, Kathy Mertz of Weissport, Mary Counterman of Jessup and Tammy Troxell of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Rhonda Atkinson of Bethlehem and Donna Cox of Allentown; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 18 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville with Rev. Ernest Diefenderfer officiating. Burial will be in Dotters Corner Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
