Obituary for Charles H. Binkley Sr.

Charles H.  Binkley Sr.
Charles H. Binkley Sr., 82, of Pocono Lake, passed away on Wednesday, January 11 in Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.

He was the husband of Verna (Kresge) Binkley. They had observed their 60th wedding anniversary in September.

Born in Lebanon, PA he was a son of the late Theodore and Claire (Meckes) Binkley.

He had been a truck driver for Art Knecht & Sons in Pocono Pines until his retirement in 1996 and prior to that he had worked for Graver Trucking in East Stroudsburg and for Grassie & Sons in Greentown.

Charles served in the National Guard for eight years. He loved to fish.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles H. Binkley Jr.. and his wife Amy of Effort; two daughters, Bonnie Keiper of White Haven and Connie Wick and her husband Norman in South Carolina; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Nevin, Harold and Theodore.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday, January 16 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
