Catherine P. Duer, 76, of Albrightsville,, passed away on Friday, January 6 in her home.

Born in Queens, NY she was a daughter of the late John and Louise (Mitchell) Gilday.

She had worked as a receptionist at Urbans Funeral Home in Queens for nineteen years before retiring in 2004. Prior to that she worked as a nurses aide in Queens from 1968 until 1972.

She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church in Brodheadsville, the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 in Albrightsville and the Moose Lodge in Queens.

Surviving are four children, John Duer of Islip, NY, Theresa Connolly of Albrightsville, Joseph Duer of Seaford, NY and Michael Duer of Albrightsville; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11 from the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God with Rev. Scott Carver officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Jim Thorpe. A viewing will be held on Monday and on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville.
