Jack A.  Lippincott
Jack Arthur Lippincott, 91, of Sciota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and companion of fifteen years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Peeney, at St. Luke's Anderson Campus Hospital on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret "Dolly" (Sigman) Lippincott.

Born December 24, 1924 in Easton, he was a son of the late John R. and Ida Mae (Gower) Lippincott.

Jack served as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theater as a truck and ambulance driver in the Medical Corp with General Patton's 3rd Army. As a reservist, he served stateside duty training cadre at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri during the Korean War. He was awarded the Legion of Honor - France's highest award and the Operation Overlord French Liberation Medal from the President of the state of Normandy.

He was a retired maintenance Supervisor for twenty six years from the Met-Ed Power Generating Station in Portland. He was a member of their retirees association. Upon his retirement, he was a member of the Monroe County TIP staff for Judge Ronald Vican.

Jack was active in the past with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scoutmaster - Troop 93, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod and Gun Club and as an Advancement Chairman for Troop 84 Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church.

He was a student of military history and a founding member of the Red Ball Military Transport Vehicle Preservation Club, as well as an avid collector of military vehicles. He was an active member of the Northampton Militia revolutionary war re-enactment group and the 142 Co. G Civil War re-enactment group. He was a member of the Battle of the Bulge Assn. He was a member and past officer of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert and the VFW Post 2540 in East Stroudsburg. Jack was a member of the Blue Mountain Antique Gas and Steam engine Club and the Pocono Old-Tyme Farm Equipment Assn. and he was a self-taught Wheelwright.

He is survived by his sons, Glen A. Lippincott and his wife Donna and Alan C. Lippincott and his wife Catherine; a daughter, Gail Colbeth and her husband David M. Colbeth; five grandchildren, Melanie Weiss, Steven Lippincott, Paul Lippincott, David M. Colbeth and Mark Lippincott; three great grandchildren, Cody Weiss, Joshua Lippincott and Jacob Lippincott and a sister, Dorcas Booth of Kresgeville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Young.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 10:30 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
