Eric Jon Zimmerman, 40, of Effort, died Thursday, May 19 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of Melody (Vogelsohn) Zimmerman.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was a son of Audrey (Russo) Zimmerman of Effort and the late Charles Zimmerman.

Eric had worked as a chef at the Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor for the past year and previously he had worked at Mt. Airy Resort in Swiftwater.

Eric loved his family and was the "Best Dad Ever".

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Jane Marie and Lily Anna Zimmerman of Effort and a brother, Charles Zimmerman Jr. in FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 28 from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert with Rev. Michael Quinnan as celebrant. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Viewings will be held on Thursday and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 each day from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville.
