Obituary for Lawrence E. "Larry" Adams

Lawrence E. Adams, 87, of Sciota died Tuesday, March 29 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.

He was the husband of Elaine (Koehler) Adams. They had observed their 60th anniversary in September.

Born in Ohio, he was a son of the late Ernest H. and Florence (Stalder) Adams.

Larry had owned many area apartment rentals, which were homes he had built himself. He was also a nationally certified auto mechanic, specializing in cars electrical wiring..

Larry was a US Air Force veteran, enlisting in September of 1950 and then being assigned to duty at the Pentagon in Washington DC in July of 1951 where he spent the next 3 & 1/2 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 724 in Wind Gap.

Larry was treasurer of Green Ridge Cemetery in McIlhaney for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Shirley Adams Burkett and her husband, Rev. Harold Burkett of Lansdale; a brother, Ronald Adams and his wife Virginia of Neola and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hobart, Richard and Wayne.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Harold Burkett officiating. Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
