Sandra L. Erickson, 71, of Albrightsville, died Friday, March 11 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes Barre.

She was the wife of Donald Ransel.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Lillian (Hoppes) Dunbar.

She had worked as an RN at Gracedale in Nazareth until her retirement in 2003. Prior to working as an RN she had been a beautician. More than anything though, she loved being a grandmother.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Megan Hall of Philadelphia, Monica Mesics of Ardmore and Lisa Thomas of Nazareth; a son, Michael Mesics of Bethlehem; two brothers, Charles Dunbar and Wilbert Dunbar Jr. and three grandchildren. She was also a proud aunt to her nieces and nephews as well as a proud godmother.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will be in Holy Family Upper Cemetery in Nazareth. Memorial donations may be made to any local No Kill Animal Shelter. The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
