Obituary for Howard L. Nugent

Howard L. Nugent, 86, of Effort died Friday, March 29 in his home.

He was the husband of Ruth (Hoffman) Nugent. They had observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in December.

Born in Trenton, NJ , he was a son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Price) Nugent.

He had been a mechanic at Columbia Motors in Trenton for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.

Howard enjoyed gardening and landscaping and he was also a well known local artist.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dale Nugent and his wife Deborah of McMichaels; a daughter, Diane Rodriguez of Glen Lyon; two sisters, Lucille Hennessey in Virginia and Marge Woods of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Michael, Vince and Tony and three great grandchildren, Michael Jr., Vince Jr. and Oryona.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
